Sunday Report

Week 12

So, since last weeks Sunday report was received quite well, I thought I'd write up another one!

New Features

As you might've seen, we'll soon be able to play Bloodborne, Killzone: Shadowfall and Split/Second on your Apple device (can't wait to find some time to play via Vision Pro r/VisionPro ) via PS4 and PS3 streaming. I'm still looking into changing/optimising/unifying the user interface for this, but everything works great as is really responsive.

Another thing coming soon is custom presets which you'll be able to share between your devices. At some point I might setup a method so you could share your streaming settings with other players as well, which will be expanded one for other future features.

Trust me when I say that I have at least another years amount of ideas needing to be manifested. So there's stil a lot of new features coming to Remote Play/PS Cloud, most of them which have never been done.

Updates

Although I originally planned to cut back on the updates for Asobi and make them bi-weekly, I've decided against it considering there's still a few bugs I want to have squashed as soon as possible, so for the time being you'll still see weekly updates to Asobi.

Currently I'm working on the following for next weeks update and the week after;

  • SDR/HDR color space updates
  • 120fps frame-gen optimisations
  • Background streaming updates
  • Internet Remote play updates
  • Virtual Controller updates
  • General user interface tweaks
  • External monitor audio issues

Newsletter

I saw that a few of you were definitely interested in a newsletter, my idea is to condense pretty much everything I've done in the last week covering Asobi, and most likely other apps I'm working on as well (such as r/MidoriApp, which is progressing nicely and should be coming out soon.), If there's anything else you'd like me to share; please let me know!

Porting Asobi

As you might know I'm also working on porting Asobi to the Meta Quest 3 which is progressing quickly. There's a chance it might even be released this month. If the response it good enough then I'll look into bringing Asobi to other platforms.

Check the screendumps/images for some "work in progress" action, in relation to PS3/4 game support, and some outtakes of crazy stuff like porting Asobi.

Let me know if you guys want me to keep up writing this "Sunday Report" and I'm open to suggestions for naming it something different. What do you guys think?

Peace,
