Edition 15, Week 25
It's been a crazy week, not sure where to start. So let's just start here:
The Asobi Porting Initiative
You might be wondering, where are the ports? Well, it's been emotional π«£π π
- Android
As you might've noticed, the Android version isn't out yet. I tried to do something that just wasn't allowed in the Play Store and that was getting support working for adaptive triggers over Bluetooth. Which meant that I would make calls to APIs that aren't allowed. Which resulted in some back and forth and eventually having to cut the feature. A real shame, but you'd never know what to expect if you don't try it.
Either way, a new build has been submitted and should be approved any day now.
I'll make sure to post an update when the app is finally available!
- Steam (Windows/Linux)
I submitted the Linux version last Thursday and hope to get some kind of approval in the coming days so we can start the PlayTest. Which is good. I just hope it all runs nice and stable so we can get the full version out the week after.
Also, I've been working on the Windows x86/arm version as well. With a bit of luck it'll be available with the full version as well.
- Meta Quest
I've made loads of progress, which means that it looks likely that it'll release this month on the Meta Quest store. *fingers crossed*
PlayStation Cloud
A couple of weeks ago I announced I had figured out how to get full library parity with the PlayStation Portal library. Which is quite exciting! The only thing left is to integrate the PS Now library and ship it to you guys.
Expect it to be available after the 1.3.7 update!
Updates
This is what's scheduled for week 25:
- Asobi for Android version 1.0
The first release of the Android version which will support Android 13 and later on phones and tablets. Android TV support will come later, and I'm looking into supporting older Android versions.
- Asobi version 1.3.7
Expect some new features for Vision Pro, Apple TV, iPhone and iPad. Better Internet Remote Play and some new datapoints added to the Performance overlay.
There's also a big update coming for macOS as well, but later π
- Midori version 1.0.1
This will be the first update coming to Midori on Vision Pro, Mac, iPhone and iPad with a lot of bug-fixes and some new features in relation to visual fidelity, user interface, some bug-fixes and some library fixes.
Bad news though, the Apple TV version has still not been approved, I even had to cut some features for the time being.
- Steam Linux PlayTest start
Once the Steam PlayTest starts you'll receive a notification from Steam so the moment it's approved I'll press that button and then post on the subreddit.
In Closing
Thanks for reading! It's going to be a busy week π€. I really appreciate all your continued support and please keep that feedback coming! π₯π₯π₯
