Getting Started

Set up Asobi in under 5 minutes. Here's everything you need to start streaming.

What You Need

PlayStation® Console

  • ✓ PS4 or PS5 console
  • ✓ Connected to your home network
  • ✓ Ethernet cable (recommended)

Apple Device

  • ✓ iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple TV, or Vision Pro
  • ✓ On the same Wi-Fi network
  • ✓ Bluetooth controller (recommended)

Enable Remote Play on PlayStation®

This only needs to be done once.

On your PS5:

  1. 1. Go to Settings → System → Remote Play
  2. 2. Turn on Enable Remote Play

On your PS4:

  1. 1. Go to Settings → Remote Play Connection Settings
  2. 2. Check Enable Remote Play

Get the Registration PIN

Generate a PIN to link your device.

On your PS5:

  1. 1. Go to Settings → System → Remote Play → Link Device
  2. 2. An 8-digit PIN will appear on screen

On your PS4:

  1. 1. Go to Settings → Remote Play Connection Settings → Add Device
  2. 2. An 8-digit PIN will appear on screen

The PIN is valid for 300 seconds (5 minutes). Have your Apple device ready!

Add Console in Asobi

Link your PlayStation® to the app.

  1. 1. Open Asobi on your Apple device
  2. 2. Tap Add Console (or press ⌘N on Mac)
  3. 3. Your PlayStation® should appear automatically
  4. 4. Enter the 8-digit PIN from Step 2
  5. 5. Wait for registration to complete

✓ Registration is one-time. Your console will be saved for future sessions.

Connect Your Controller

Pair via Bluetooth for the best experience.

DualSense / DualShock 4:

  1. 1. Hold PS button + Create/Share button until the light bar flashes
  2. 2. On your device, go to Settings → Bluetooth
  3. 3. Select DualSense Wireless Controller or DUALSHOCK 4

You can also use Xbox controllers or any MFi-certified Bluetooth controller.

Start Playing!

You're all set.

  1. 1. Tap your console in Asobi
  2. 2. Tap Connect
  3. 3. Your PlayStation® will wake up (if in rest mode) and start streaming

Tips for Best Performance

Use Ethernet

Connect your PlayStation® with an Ethernet cable for the most stable connection.

5GHz Wi-Fi

Use 5GHz Wi-Fi on your Apple device for lower latency than 2.4GHz.

Close Other Apps

Bandwidth-heavy apps can interfere with streaming quality.

Adjust Bitrate

If choppy, lower the bitrate in console settings within the app.
