Pair Your PlayStation Without a PIN

If you're signed in with PSN, Asobi can register your PS5 or PS4 automatically, from anywhere in the world. You don't need to be in the same room, the same network, or even the same country as the console. No walking over to read an 8-digit PIN, no typing. Three taps.

Three taps to register

  1. 1.Open Asobi and go to the Discovery screen.
  2. 2.Tap PSN.
  3. 3.Tap Auto.

Asobi exchanges credentials with PlayStation Network on your behalf and your console appears in the list. From then on it behaves exactly like a console paired the manual way: Remote Play from anywhere, wake-on-LAN, the lot.

Before you start

  • •Be signed in with your PSN account inside Asobi (Settings → Accounts).
  • •The console must have been signed in to that same PSN account at least once. If it's a fresh console or a different account, sign in on the PS5 or PS4 first.
  • •The console doesn't need to be on the same Wi-Fi, in the same house, or even in the same country. Pairing goes through PSN, not the local network. Rest Mode is fine.

If auto-registration doesn't offer a console

One known limitation: if your PSN account has a 4-digit console PIN set (Account Settings on PlayStation.com), the console refuses to offer itself to third-party remote-play apps. Asobi can't work around this on its own, Sony blocks the request.

Easy fix: either remove the console PIN from your account, or fall back to the classic pairing flow (Getting Started): grab the 8-digit PIN from Settings → System → Remote Play → Link Device on the console and type it into Asobi.

Cloud streaming doesn't need any of this

PS Cloud and PS Now (PlayStation Plus Premium cloud streaming) stream from Sony's servers rather than your own console, so there's nothing to pair. Just sign in with PSN and the cloud catalog is available immediately.

Still not working?

If auto-registration finishes but Remote Play then fails to connect, that's a network issue rather than a pairing one. Have a look at the connection setup and Performance Overlay guides, or send us a note:
